Radcliffe Cardiology is delighted to announce that Transcatheter Interventions Online (TIO) will return for 2022 on 22-24 March, led by course director, Prof Nicolas van Mieghem from Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, NL.

TIO is a free virtual event that brings together leading international faculty to create a rich, interactive experience to keep the global interventional community abreast of the latest developments in transcatheter strategies. Nicolas M. Van Mieghem obtained his medical degree and cardiology degree at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. After subsequent Fellowships in interventional cardiology in Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg Genk, Belgium, Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, USA and Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, he joined the department of interventional cardiology in the Thoraxcenter, Erasmus MC as a senior staff member in February 2010.

Prof Holger Thiele

Holger Thiele is the Medical Director of the Department of Internal Medicine/Cardiology at the Heart Center Leipzig at University of Leipzig which is one of the largest heart centers in Europe. He is full professor of cardiology at the University of Leipzig.
His main research interests are acute myocardial infarction, acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, acute cardiovascular care, interventional cardiology and structural heart disease.
Professor Thiele has published over 500 articles in international scientific journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JAMA, Circulation, JACC, and the European Heart Journal with a cumulative impact factor of >4500. He has received multiple awards from the German Society of Cardiology and other organisations.

Dr Joost Daemen
Dr Joost Daemen

Thoraxcenter, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, NL

Dr. Joost Daemen obtained his medical degree at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Between 2005 and 2008, he completed a PhD project entitled “The caveats of drug-eluting stents – a critical appraisal of the safety concerns”. After obtaining his PhD Cum Laude, he commenced his clinical training and interventional cardiology training at the Thorax Center in Rotterdam and at the Insel Spital in Bern, Switzerland. At present, Dr. Daemen is participating in cathlab‑related activities including complex PCI including the use of left ventricular assist devices, intracoronary imaging, and structural heart interventions. Next to his clinical activities Dr. Daemen is highly active in cardiovascular research with a specific focus on intracoronary imaging and physiology and renal sympathetic denervation. He co-authored over 250 peer reviewed publications and is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).

Dr Allen Jeremias, MD, MSc is an interventional cardiologist at St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY and Director of Interventional Cardiology Research and Associate Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He is also the Director of the Physiology Core Laboratory at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, New York, NY. Weiner Cardiovascular Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital where, over the past five years, she has led the development of a globally-respected data and clinical coordination center to support large, multicenter, multinational clinical trials designed, by her team, to help clinicians improve outcomes and quality of life for patients undergoing interventional cardiovascular procedures.
